Question 1

What is Kech?

Accepted Answer

Kech turns a PDF into a full, chapter-by-chapter narrated audiobook. It covers the complete source material, not a summary, and you can start listening to chapter one before later chapters finish generating.

Question 2

Can I upload any PDF?

Accepted Answer

Only material you have the right to adapt: your own writing, public-domain works, openly licensed material, or anything the rightsholder has permitted. Owning a copy of a book is not enough on its own. Kech makes private audio for your own listening, and it is not a way to acquire, share, or redistribute copyrighted audio. See our Terms of Service for the full policy.

Question 3

What happens to my file after it's processed?

Accepted Answer

Your PDF and its generated audio stay in your account's storage until you delete the book or close your account. Nothing you upload or generate is shared publicly or with other accounts. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Question 4

How much does it cost?

Accepted Answer

You buy page credits in one-off prepaid packs that never expire, and each page of the PDF you upload uses one. There is no subscription. See the Pricing page for current pack prices.

Question 5

How long does a book take to generate?

Accepted Answer

Chapters are narrated in order, and chapter one is playable long before the last chapter is done, so you are never waiting on the whole book before you can start listening.

Question 6

Can I choose the narrator's voice?

Accepted Answer

Yes, with samples, and it's fixed for that book once you start generating. Re-narrating an existing book in a different voice isn't offered, because its audio is already made in the voice you picked, and switching would mean paying for the whole book's narration a second time.

Question 7

Does Kech work with scanned PDFs?

Accepted Answer

Not yet. Kech needs real, selectable text, so scanned or image-only documents aren't supported.

Question 8

Is this a summary, like other AI tools?

Accepted Answer

No. Kech narrates every chapter and section in full, in the order the book already has them. Nothing is condensed or skipped, which is the main way it differs from short-form AI summary tools.
