Terms of Service

Last updated: 18 October 2026

1. About Kech

Kech is a personal audiobook generator and a product of Lynna Labs Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17168299), whose registered office is at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom ("we", "us", "our"; https://www.lynnalabs.com). It turns a PDF you have the right to adapt into a full, chapter-by-chapter narrated audiobook for your own listening. By using Kech, you enter into an agreement with Lynna Labs Ltd under these Terms of Service.

2. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using Kech, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you may not use the service. You must be at least 13 years old, and able to form a binding contract.

3. The service

Kech lets you upload a single PDF, extracts its text, generates a narration script for each chapter using an AI model, synthesizes audio, and provides a player with resume, chapter navigation, and speed control. Chapters become playable as they finish, before the whole book is done.

Kech is single-user scoped. Your library is private to your account. There is no sharing between accounts, no organizations, and no public content.

This is an early validation build. The service is provided as-is, and we may modify, suspend, or discontinue it, in whole or in part, at any time.

4. Your account

You agree that

  • Sign-in is through Google only. You are responsible for keeping access to your Google account secure.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You will provide accurate information and keep it current.

5. Content you upload

You represent and warrant that

  • You have the legal right to create an audio narration of the PDF you upload for your own personal use.
  • Your use of Kech to narrate that material does not infringe anyone's copyright or other rights.
  • You will not use Kech to reproduce, distribute, sell, or publicly perform the generated audio, or to otherwise circumvent the rights of a rightsholder.
  • You will not upload unlawful content, malware, or content you are not permitted to process.

Owning a copy of a book does not by itself give you the right to make an audio version of it. Material you can narrate includes your own writing, works in the public domain, works under a licence that allows adaptation (such as some Creative Commons licences), material the rightsholder has permitted you to adapt, and material UK law lets you copy for private use. If you are unsure, do not upload it.

Kech produces a private, personal narration. It is not a publishing, distribution, or content-library platform. You are solely responsible for the material you upload and for how you use the audio it generates.

6. Acceptable use

You may not

  • Use Kech to violate any applicable law or the rights of others.
  • Attempt to access another account's books, chapters, or files.
  • Reverse engineer, probe, or disrupt the service or its infrastructure, or bypass usage or rate limits.
  • Resell, sublicense, or provide the service to third parties as if it were your own.
  • Upload content designed to make the AI model produce harmful, deceptive, or infringing output.

7. Ownership

You retain all rights you hold in the PDFs you upload. As between you and us, you own the narration scripts and audio files Kech generates from your material, subject to the rights of the underlying work's rightsholder.

We own Kech itself — the software, design, and infrastructure. You grant us a limited licence to store and process your content solely to operate the service for you: to extract text, generate scripts, synthesize audio, and deliver playback. We do not use your content to train our own models.

8. Pages and payment

Where Kech charges, it charges for processing, not for content. Your balance is counted in page credits: generating an audiobook uses one page credit for each page of the PDF you upload, which is what pays for the language-model and speech-synthesis work that conversion requires. Kech does not sell audiobooks, licence recordings, or offer a catalogue of any kind — every file it produces is made from a document you supplied and is playable only by your account.

Page credits are bought in advance and are not a subscription. They do not expire and have no cash value. If a book fails before any narration is generated, the page credits it reserved are returned to your balance automatically; page credits used by narration that was generated are not refundable, since the processing has already been carried out.

Page credits are sold through Stripe's Managed Payments service, in which Stripe (through Link) is the merchant of record: it takes your payment, calculates, collects and pays any VAT or other sales tax that applies, and sends your receipt. We do not receive or store your card details. Prices are shown in pounds sterling and include any tax that applies; at checkout you may be shown the amount in your local currency. Prices may change, but a change never affects page credits you have already bought.

Your right to cancel. If you are a consumer, you normally have 14 days from purchase to cancel a purchase of digital content. Page credits are used as soon as you generate a book, so at checkout you ask us to make them available straight away and acknowledge that you lose the right to cancel for page credits once you use them. You can still cancel within 14 days of purchase for any page credits you have not used: email hello@lynnalabs.com and we will refund the unused page credits in proportion to the price you paid, to your original payment method, within 14 days.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer, including your rights if the service is faulty or not as described.

9. AI-generated narration

Every narration voice on Kech is synthetic: it is generated by AI text-to-speech and is not the voice of a real person.

Narration scripts and audio are produced by automated models. They may contain errors, omissions, mispronunciations, or misdescriptions of figures, tables, and code, and they are not guaranteed to be an accurate or complete rendering of the source. Do not rely on the narration as a substitute for the original document where accuracy matters.

11. Third-party services

Kech depends on third-party providers, including Google (sign-in, and the Gemini models for narration scripts and speech synthesis), OpenAI and ElevenLabs (narration scripts and speech synthesis, depending on how the service is configured), Stripe (payments, where charging is enabled), Neon (database), Amazon Web Services (file storage and audio delivery), Upstash (short-lived caching), Sentry (error tracking), and Vercel (hosting and background jobs). Your use of Kech is also subject to those providers' terms, and their availability is outside our control. Details of what data goes where are in the Privacy Policy.

12. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Kech is provided without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that generated audio will meet your expectations.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, revenue, or content, arising from your use of or inability to use the service. You are responsible for retaining your own copies of any source files you care about.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be excluded or limited by law.

13. Termination

You may stop using Kech and request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms or if we discontinue the service. On termination, your books and files are deleted as described in the Privacy Policy.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer. We will try to resolve any dispute through good-faith discussion before formal proceedings.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Material changes will be communicated in the app or by email to the address on your account. Continued use of Kech after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
